Notice of Intent for Sole Source

The Medical Readiness Contracting Office - Pacific intends to award a firm fixed-price, non-personal services contract for Medical Specimen Laboratory Testing Services for Bassett Army Community Hospital in Alaska. BSAC’s Department of Pathology requires 24-hour STAT-to-Routine specimen testing services. The anticipated contract will have a 5-Year Ordering Period from 15 November 2023 – 14 November 2028, and will include FAR Clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services, which if used to its full capacity, will extend the contract ordering period to 14 May 2029.

The proposed acquisition is intended as a sole source to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, as they have a fully accredited Laboratory, certified by College of Pathologist (CAP) and The Joint Commission and is the only entity that can meet the Government’s turnaround time requirement of one hour for the required STAT testing. These services are vital to patient care and safety. This notice is neither a request for quotes nor a solicitation of offers; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
