SOURCES SOUGHT: This notice is market research to support inclusion of sole source (brand name) specification in Snow Making Equipment Repair, Fort Wainwright, Alaska. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The U.S. Army Engineer District, Alaska intends to specify the below listed items as part of a larger construction contract to be executed on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. A determination by the Government to not compete this requirement, for the specific items listed below, based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Reference FAR 6.302-1(c), “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements - Application for brand name descriptions.”

Items:

1. Snow Makers Inc Super Pole Cat Snow Guns – The pumps and snowmaking equipment are designed to work cohesively as a system to meet the demands of the project. The new snow making system requires a target value of 75 hours of continuous operation. The inlet pressure is 300 psi.


2. Snow Makers Inc Towers – These were paired with existing hydrant locations and placed using snow making coverage (apx. 250’x200’.) Super pole cat units only utilize a water line leading to the abandonment of the existing air system. Selection of a new gun system will require reevaluating existing hydrant locations, abandonment of the air line and hydrants, and the discharge pond.

3. Flow Serve Model 10ELL-7 Vertical Turbine Pump - Flowserve Model 10ELL-7 stage vertical turbine rated at 300 HP with 460 Volt 3 Phase 60 Hz. These pumps were selected based on a flow demand of 1200 GPM and minimum system pressure requirements at the highest elevation point within the system. A prefabricated structural base for the pumps is required to fit within the limited deign space.

THIS NOTICE IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No solicitation will be available as these sole source items will be incorporated into the specifications of Snow Making Equipment Repair, Fort Wainwright, Alaska solicitation.

Vendors who offer the above items which can meet all of the above functional criteria are invited to respond to this notice. Responses must include the following information:

1. Identification of the manufacturer’s name, address, and country of product manufacture.


2. Fully detailed specification sheets.


3. Narrative addressing how your product meets the salient features listed above.
