Description

INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE

NOAA's NMFS, Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories, will issue an award on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Bobcat of Alaska.

The Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Department of Commerce (DOC) is a government agency charged with the mission of stewardship for living marine resources. The Auke Bay Laboratories mange its own facilities, which requires snow removal.

The emergency requirement is for investigation and immediate repair of our Bobcat Toolcat by a Bobcat service provider. There is only one Bobcat dealership in Juneau with the only Bobcat mechanics and access to provide parts and service immediately in order to get this Toolcat operational. The Toolcat is the primary equipment used for snow removal to ensure the buildings are open and operational. Service includes troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic leak and associated issues. Cab removal is expected, authorized supply parts are accessible, and service will be provided by authorized mechanics, leading to the Bobcat Toolcat back in operation within days.

Award for this requirement will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. Anticipated value will be under the Simplified acquisition procedures with an estimated value of less than $10,000. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No known potential alternate sources exist which could satisfy these requirement.
