NOTICE OF INVITATION FOR BIDS

AUKE BAY INTEGRATED SCIENCE BUILDING
(FORMERLY AUKE BAY STATION, PHASE II)

Electronically submitted bids, in single copy, for the Auke Bay Integrated Science Building project will be received by the University of Alaska, until Thursday, 2:00 p.m., February 24, 2022, at the email address designated herein at which time bids will be publicly read aloud via audio conference audio conference number (907) 796-6600, toll-free.  The meeting ID, and passcode will be provided through Notification from AEPlans 48 hours prior to bid opening to parties who are registered with AEPlans.  Submit electronic bids and bid bonds via email to:  UAS Facilities Services, nleigh1@alaska.edu .

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Construct a new two-story, 11,200 sq.ft. classroom, office, and laboratory building at 11305 Glacier Highway, Juneau Alaska. The Work includes a steel-framed structure with an exterior-insulated, wood and metal clad building envelope, with coated steel canopies and timber decks. Windows are aluminum, curtainwall, and storefront. The building is designed to maximize energy efficiency and will be heated and cooled by an air-source heat pump and heat recovery ventilation system.  The work includes a facility power generator.  Sitework includes paved drive and parking area for 12 vehicles, and accessible access at grade for both stories between the new building and the Anderson building.

BIDDERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA REVIEWS AND ACCEPTS ALTERNATE PRODUCTS OR SYSTEMS PRIOR TO BID OPENING.  SUBSTITUTIONS AFTER AWARD ARE LIMITED.  SEE INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS AND THE GENERAL CONDITIONS.

Funding for this project is available.

All bid documents are available in electronic format. They may be viewed online and downloaded without charge and without deposit from www.aeplans.com . AEPlans software and website technical assistance is available at (888) 320-3032 (toll free). Bidders must register through the website to be notified of addenda. Printed copies of bid documents may be ordered from reprographic companies through the website or by contacting a reprographer directly. Downloaded files may also be printed on the planholder’s own equipment. Addenda will be posted on the AEPlans website. The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the website.

A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 10:00 AM in room 204 of the Anderson Building, University of Alaska Southeast, 11275 Glacier Highway, in Juneau, Alaska. All interested bidders are invited but not required to attend.

Bid security is required with each bid.  State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder after a five percent (5%) Alaska Bidder preference and Alaska Product Preferences have been applied.  See the Instructions for Bidders.
