Notice of Utility Tariff Filings

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach) filed TA531-8 and TA409-121, seeking to update Rule 1.1 and Rule 3.2 of its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) No. 8 tariff, and Rules 1 through 3 of its CPCN No. 121 tariff, respectively. Chugach seeks to align the operating tariffs between its two certificates so that each tariff’s rules are identical.

With TA531-8, Chugach proposes to add to Rule 1.1 that the operating tariff is available in electronic form on its website and update member services contact information. With TA409-121, Chugach proposes to reorganize and update the rules for authority for rules and regulations, nature of service offered, and types of service provided in its North District operating tariff (Rules 1 through 3) to align with the rules as provided in its South District operating tariff. A selection of the proposed revisions to the North District operating tariffs are as follows:

• Add provisions indicating that Chugach is not responsible for loss or damage caused by service interruptions unless the interruption is caused by Chugach’s negligence.
• Provide a table in Rule 2.2 containing the voltage, frequency, and wave form for the services defined in Rule 2.1.
• Renumber and consolidate the rules for permanent and temporary services in Rule 3, and add new provisions providing a 12-month limitation for temporary service and an explanation for the conditions to extend the limited time period.
